As Seen In The Press

Hi, we’re Motto, an Australian women’s fashion brand for women who bloody love fashion.

Founded in Melbourne in 1985 by Faye and John Browne, Motto is now led by their daughter Lauren French as CEO, with Faye still very much at the heart of the brand as Creative Director. We’ve spent four decades designing bold, colourful clothes for real women and real bodies, in sizes 8 to 20.

A few famous fans and plenty of press later, our philosophy hasn’t changed much:

Wear the colour. Take up space. Wear your good sh*t.

Faye Browne on the Today Show

Before she was on billboards, she was on breakfast TV. In June 2026, the Today show invited Faye into the studio to find out how a 72-year-old Melburnian became a social media fashion icon.

The answer? She never got the memo that you’re meant to tone it down as you get older. Faye shows up in bold colour, big prints and statement pieces, and thousands of women online love her for it. Her message is simple: getting older doesn’t mean stepping back from fashion. If anything, it’s the perfect time to step forward.

On the day, Faye wore a signature Motto look, finished with a skirt from our iconic Miracle range, proving you don’t need to be 25 to own a room. Or a TV studio.

Faye Browne in The Australian Women’s Weekly

At 72, Motto founder and Creative Director Faye Browne became the face of one of our boldest campaigns yet, fronting billboards across Melbourne and Sydney in a red suit with a simple message: fashion doesn’t have an age.

Wear the skirt. Choose the colour. Be bold. Be daring. Stop saving the good stuff for “one day”. Getting older shouldn’t mean becoming invisible. It should mean knowing yourself well enough to wear whatever makes you feel bloody good.

In The Australian Women’s Weekly, online and in print, Faye opened up about being diagnosed with breast cancer at 58, learning to love her body again, and how the experience changed the way she thinks about life, fashion and confidence.

“Cancer taught me not to wait for a special occasion to enjoy life.” - Faye Browne

Confidence has no age limit

Even the ad world noticed. Faye, 72, launched Wear Your Good Sh*t on billboards across Melbourne and Sydney, and the campaign video hit 100,000+ views in a day.

Worn by some seriously fabulous women

We’re not the only ones who believe fashion should be bold, fearless and fun at every age.

Former world No. 4 and Wimbledon semi-finalist Jelena Dokic fronts our Wimbledon Movement collection, wearing our Boyfriend Blazer and Euro Pintuck Pants. Julia Morris and Kate Langbroek have been spotted in Motto too.

And it turns out we’ve found a few fans inside the Mamamia team as well, with women from Mamamia Out Loud, including producer Ruth and presenter Holly, shopping Motto for themselves.

Strong women. Big personalities. Zero interest in disappearing quietly.

Good taste, ladies.
