Derby Day Fashion 101 - Our Favourite Black & White Looks

Fashion wise, Derby Day is my favourite day of Melbourne’s Spring Racing Carnival. Could the black and white dress code be any more Melbourne?! Whether you go the classic black and white combo or all black or all white, the effect is tres chic and so very stylish.

I’ve put together four different outfits for you to absolutely nail style and comfort on this super stylin’ race day.

• 1.Black & White Lace Trench with Supreme Midi Skirt & Ivory Chiffon Feather Cami , chic being the operative word for this outfit. A gorgeous wide brimmed hat, some kitten heeled slingbacks and you’re all sorted.
• 2.Black Chiffon Crystal Jacket with Vienna Lace Skirt & Ivory Chiffon Feather Cami for a dressy, polished look. A black and white fascinator and block heeled heels complete this look.
• 3.Black Floral Lace Trench with Black Crepe Ring Culotte and Black Crepe Lace Cami, an all black ensemble that will have heads turning with it’s stylish simplicity. A black headband/piece and some delicate wedges tie it all together.
• 4.Ivory Floral Chiffon Tulip Tunic, although not technically black and white it does have both in it, paired with the White Bennie Pants will have you floating through Derby Day looking fresh and garnering admiring glances! Pop on a big, white floppy hat a la Kate Waterhouse, a little black clutch and some strappy black heels and you’re set for an amazing day.

Of course if you’re not hitting Flemington but still like to get into the spirit, we have some fabulous black and white separates to get you in the Derby Day vibe! I’ll be swanning about at the kidlets basketball in the black and white patchwork crochet tunic, I would like to say in the ivory but we all know me, coffee and ivory tops don’t mix well, and white ankle jeans, because I can do a white bottom just not a top!
